  2024-01-13

The diversity of metabolic adaptations employed by cancer cells in response to rapidly changing conditions, contributes to their biological aggressiveness and therapeutic resistance by enabling them to proliferate when nutrients are plentiful and to shift their resources to survival when nutrients a

  2024-01-13

The central problem in amnesia developing following impairment of long-term memory consolidation or reconsolidation is a question of the underlying mechanisms, whether it is caused by impairment of retrieval or memory storage mechanisms [3,8,9,[15], [16], [17], [18]]. To answer this question, severa

Materials and methods Results To explore the potential role of autophagy in drug resistance, we firstly performed immunohistochemistry to compare the CB-839 of p62 in paired primary, metastatic, and recurrent tumor tissues from 26 ovarian cancer patients. The expression of p62 was revealed to

Ataxia–telangiectasia and Rad3 related as a therapeutic target Several concerns revolving around functional inhibition of ATR have hindered the exploitation of ATR as therapeutic target in cancer therapy and delayed the development of specific ATR kinase inhibitors. It was anticipated that pharma

Conclusion Introduction Breast cancer is the most common cancer and second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women [1,2]. There were about 1.7 million new cases of breast cancer worldwide in 2012 [3], and the number of new cases of female breast cancer is expected to increase to 3.2 mi

HMG proteins: mobile modulators of chromatin structure and cellular phenotype The term “High Mobility Group” was originally coined for the HMG proteins because of their unusual solubility properties, their small size and their rapid mobility, relative to other chromatin proteins, during gel elect

  2024-01-12

Studies have demonstrated that AT2 plays a greater role in modulating arterial pressure in females than in males. Chronic low-dose infusion of Ang II decreased blood pressure in female rats at a dose that had negligible effects in males. Furthermore, AT2 blockade eliminates the depressor response to

  2024-01-12

In the current investigation, we studied the effect of propofol on prostate cancer cells. Propofol is one of the most commonly used drugs in the critical care setting and for the induction of general anesthesia and moderate and deep sedation intraoperatively. Recent studies indicated that propofol e

However, a high triglyceride level was associated with dementia in a study with subjects aged ≥65 years (Raffaitin et al., 2009). In another study, the serum triglyceride levels of three different transgenic mouse strains mimicking AD were also evaluated within the progression of the pathology. In o

Thymic expression of AChR Both linear unfolded epitopes of AChR subunits and the intact AChR are avidly expressed in thymus, particularly by thymic epithelial cells and myoid cells [17], [18], [19]. AChR-antibody positive MG patients often show thymic hyperplasia, characterized by lymphoid follic

Consistent with the observation that mutations in the redox-partner binding site of P450c17 that reverse charge from basic to acidic (R347H, R358Q) cause 17,20-lyase deficiency (Geller et al, 1997, Geller et al, 1999), at least one POR mutation that changes a residue in the FMN domain from neutral t
